You Changed My Life By Being You

So many times you filled me up

and all you were was there.

Now im missing you so much,

untold how much I care

Cutting short the time that’s ours,

erased away that time.

Its not fair, so little twas,

taken what was mine

But now I treasure oh so much

the times that we once had.

and those’ll hold forever

and though it makes me sad

To consider all that could

and all that was to be.

Moves the world all by itself

and causes me to see.

The time we share together

and times I simply watched

are each itself so amazing

we seldom count the cost.

So in this very value

which doesn’t seem like gain

Is the inspiration

that gets us past the pain.

For if we are to value

those things we hold so dear

Its in those treasures that we hold

then it becomes quite clear

That in the moments that we have

together, just like gems.

You changed my life by being you

and so enriched I am.

FOLLOW THE MONEY

Crazy times we live in
Filled with irony
Where is all the money?
Loss of harmony?

Take up a collection
Give it to the bank
They got an infection
Didn’t even thank

Gave up all our money,
Though they had it all.
Spent it getting bigger,
Threw us a curve ball.

How much did we give them?
Everything and more.
Then get a loan from them,
How were paying for.

Then the auto makers
Said they need some too.
Moneys only paper,
Now give us our due.

Mr. Jones lost his home
When his job did fail.
When he took a dollar bill
They put him in jail.

Then there’s Bernnie Madoff,
Made off fifty bill.
Though it’s fifty billion
Punishment is nil.

All the mucky muckys
Got us in this mess.
Say they will rescue us
We’ll be so impressed.

They say it is their job
Save the human race.
But when you add it up
It’s but a disgrace.

PERFECT LOVE

We’re in a bath of fear now
And turning up the heat
Note the one who’s on the prowl
Don’t fall for this deceit

Consider times he was there
The way he pulled you though
And know that he understands
And what he’s done for you

Focus on the one you love
The way he first loved you
Precious gifts from God above
This precious love renewed

This perfect love is the light
The dark shall disappear
For his love drives out fright
"Perfect love casts out fear."

Though we’re in the cooker now
Don’t give in to despair
Promises to show us how
That boils down to prayer

WE HAVE SEEN HIS STAR

by choice2

-----------------
Twas the…

Night before Christmas

The darkness of night
New day was dawning
Bringing New Light

Light into darkness
That all may see
Born and died
For you and for me

This King brought a gift
From heaven
above
For many who will
Accepted his Love

This gift was given

More precious than gold

The King of Kings birth

Was long long foretold

Poured out this treasure

As poured frankincense
Taken great measure
His life recompensed

Gave over himself

For yours to secure

And from death to life

The sweet smell of myrrh

---
Heavenly Host sing Hallelu

Praising his name, for it is True

Accept this gift given to you

The Host will then sing Hallelu.

Do you know Santa?

I don’t get what they see
When they look at him.
This obese man lacks control,
Goes on an eating binge.

He shows up to a party,
And does that stupid laugh.
They buy it line and sinker,
Of him they see just half.

They didn’t see him stinking drunk,
Tripped on the Yule log.
Fell into the Christmas tree,
Got up and kicked the dog.

They didn’t see when he puked,
Was hugging the commode.
Many times he’s been like this,
Should all the truth be told.

They didn’t see him playing cards,
And bet the grocery money.
Do you think he’s jolly now?
Do you think he’s funny?

Think just because his brother
Is known as Santa Claus
That he would be just like him,
Not have so many flaws.

You can’t go by the package.
You can’t go by ones kin.
You can’t go by ones relatives.
To know just what’s within.

So have a Merry Christmas.
Enjoy your family.
You can pick who is your friend,
But not your family tree.

THAT'S NOT MY VIAGRA

That’s not my Viagra
Don’t need it, oh, not me
Must be someone else’s
Go ask, and she’ll agree

There’s been a time or two
I had too much to drink
And a little period
I saw my favorite shrink

Sometimes I’m in pain
An old sports injury
Distracted me a little
Pain in the ass old knee

When getting to the end,
Quotas in each quarter
Of course it’s not the time
Not like I forgot her

Besides she said to me
It’s really not about
‘sides, Tuesdays bowling night
And Fridays, girls night out.

FUZZY BURRO

I sure love fuzzy burro
I travel with my friend
Makes me mad when other folks
They call him my rear end

When we stop to spend the night
We snuggle by the fire
Wish he wouldn’t eat my beans
Before we do retire

I can count on my old friend
To stop when I say go
When I pulled upon his rope
He stepped on my big toe

Had to ride him after that
To nurse this injury
And when I wasn’t looking
He bit me on my knee

When I was bent over
To take care of this cut
My buddy, fuzzy burro
Did kick me in the butt

So I got up, eye to eye
“Your ass I could replace”
His reply came too quick
He spit into my face

I sure love fuzzy burro
I travel with my friend
Makes me mad when other folks
They call him my rear end

LIVING ONE MORE DAY

Look at you from over here
Makes me long for there
Making it distinctly clear
Just how much I care

It wasn’t ‘til I saw you
Not until you’re there
It was then that I so knew
Sense of the beware

Didn’t mean a thing to me
Seen it fall apart
Now it’s seen as a disease
Knew it from the start

If I could just take it back
Go to yesterday
Turn back time and change the facts
I’d have my own way

Can we turn the corner now?
Change a strange dispute
Getting older everyday
Can’t go back to youth

Find a way to get it done
Find a way to stay
Warriors fight is often won
Living one more day

LUCKY NEIGHBORS

I cant stand my next door neighbor
And I know they can’t stand me
Walking the dog in the morning
In their flowers I hope he will pee

I steal their Sunday paper
And turn on their water hose
When they hang out their laundry
I’ve even have taken their clothes

Last night I ordered them pizza
Hope they like anchovies
I save up my stinky garbage
To make the best of the breeze

Why do I do all this to them?
I’d be glad to tell you
It’s the way they act so like children
It’s like they never grew.

THANKS FOR THANKSGIVING

You think Thanksgiving is spiffy

You think Thanksgiving is great

But you’re not the one on the platter

You’re not the one on the plate

.

Last year I slipped into a doorway

Last year I made an escape

It was a lucky year for me

But not for my best friend named Nate

.

Usually I’m happy go lucky

Living with barely a care

This time of year I just can’t be

It makes me be sternly aware.

.

So, have a happy Thanksgiving

For you it can be a great day

For me the greatest thanksgiving

Is if I’m around the next day

.

I’m nothing but a fly
Sitting on the wall
Able to get all around
Not seen cause I’m small

As soon as something happens
I will be right there
No one even noticed me
No one said "don’t stare"

One day when I was sitting
Waiting for my cue
Suddenly she swatted me
Just before I flew

Now I quit my evesdrop
Wish I never did
Or at least I’d make sure
To be better hid

DON'T CALL ME EASY

by choice2
------------------

Whats that endless clucking
It would drive me mad
Everywhere I look this place
They sure do like to gab

Lined up by the dozens
Working where they lay
Arguing amongst themselves
Charged each with foul play

That’s but half the trouble
That’s but half the truth
When they get together
It’s hard to rule the roost

Hardly think it’s worth it
It’s too much to pay
Staying up the whole night long
First one up each day

You might think it’s easy
You might think it’s great
You’ve but half the picture
I bet you have one mate

Showing off my feathers
Strut around this place
Taking all my vitamins
Plan for just in case

A rooster’s life ain’t easy
Not for everyone
It sure does keep me busy
My work is never done.
.
.

CAPTURE A MOMENT?

It's so sad,

For what is lost.

Time passed by,

To weigh the cost.

Fortunes won’t carry

The value of fate

Might that was once

Too soon abates

Take care to carry

On wings of a gift

Lift out of the mire

Don’t tarry, be swift

There is a forever

It lasts for all time

A day lasts an instant

And this is a sign

Don’t take for granted

What’s held in the hand

Time soon will change things

Tis destined to man

.

THIS PART OF ME IS ALL I HAVE

by Choice2

------------------

Don’t tell me what I’m thinking now

Or even how I get here

The place I’m at is all I have

This valued place sincere

The cost of it is all I was

The daily fee- forsaken

To think I making light of it

Of this you are mistaken.

A judgment call you say it is

About this part your right

But I have judged myself you see

From this I get my might

So if you see me stroll along

Meander as I do

Don’t think it means I got it wrong

You haven’t got as clue.

This part of me is all I have

Don’t think of it as less

It’s much more than idle chat

The strength of it did test.

All for the fight
None for the fighter
A fortune is spent
Proving who’s righter.

The one’s who are left
Cannot be right
The righteous are those
Who win the fight?

Fighting for those
Who has a dream?
Not that it is
The way it seems

Left on the steps
Forgotten the past
Babes never born
Stay on the task

Paying the cost
Of higher endeavor
Are not the ones
That think they’re cleaver

Overlook those
Who try to survive
No time to speak
Just staying alive

Can there be time
To change the tone?
Is it too late?
Written in stone?

Can it be done
Some other way?
Not when the answer
Is “some other day”

SRORRIM-MIRRORS

By choice2

Colors of confusion

Terrors of repeat

Competing restitution

Emptiness complete

Moving situation

Genuine disguise

Earnest disposition

Telling only lies

Changing what is certain

Champions defeat

Dismissed from the forever

Lover’s never meet

Knowing for a moment

Believe for just a day

Changing your commitment

Moving while you stay

Spending hidden treasure

Twisted party line

Steadfast indecision

Lost what’s really mine

Hidden for the masses

Glowing in the light

Purchased for the winning

Loving for the fight

Lost along the pathway

Selfish charity

Even though transparent

How can I find me

Stare but never seeing

Never given a chance

Putting up a front

Never looking back

Screaming for attention

Having not been heard

Wounds I carry with me

Heartache never learned

Said a thousand times

I don’t really care

You can never hurt me

Except for when you dare

The calluses I have

Bring me lots of pain

The things that never stick to me

Keep coming back again

TRUTH

Circles have no endings

Craters have no holes

All of this depending

Who will play the roles?

.

Cheaper doesn’t buy it

Louder doesn’t hear

Shrewd can have the most of it

Never knowing cheer

.

Being right upon it

May not mean your close

Having more than all the rest

May not be the most

.

Stubborn thinks it’s steadfast

Even though it’s not

Scheming isn’t planning

Thickening the plot.

.

Seeing isn’t vision

Visions are not faith

Measuring won’t get it done

Truth can not be faked

.

WHAT AM I TO KNOW?

by choice2

Looked into the darkness
Anybody there?
Wondered if the time had gone
Anybody care?

Am I in a place that’s not?
Reach but do not touch
Lifting up the weight of it
Weighing way too much

Circle round and come behind
Finding only self
Look at me, anyone
Put upon the shelf

There’s no trepidation
Simply have no fear
No ones really looking
Is it really clear?

Guess I should be going
Where am I to go?
Not that there’s a question
What am I to know?

IF THERE WERE NO BIRDS

By choice2

-------------

Can you imagine

If there were no birds

And you couldn’t hear

The place that they're not

If there were no tears

Would it make it clear

Things forgot.

Suddenly, a sand dollar, a sunset

A sample of a thought.

Or even if there was no child

It’d be so wild

To not know

What's not.

FINDING LOST

By Choice2

Spinning all around

Floating, floating, going down

Space it measures love.

Home is coming in

And it’s place is going out

Mystery certain.

Finding for me place

The world is all around me

Youth it rushes in

Hidden glowing gem

Somehow glowing from within

Waits now to begin.

TREASURES

By choice2

___________________________

Is growing part of vision ?

Is seeing part of faith ?

Does staring into deep dark space

Create a finer place ?

.

A genuine decision.

A genuine concern.

Is losing part of giving ?

Is giving part of learned ?

.

The treasures often hidden

Are treasures often spent.

Those things so oft held onto

Are things that should be lent

.

Glory is the Fathers’,

Expanding is his way.

Receive from him is living,

Done from day to day.

MEMORIES OF LOVE

By choice2

_________________________

Time is clear, yet in the distance,

Memories of Love.

Knowing you in every instance,

Now with God above.

Tears of joy, for times we had,

Take me back some days.

Knowing you in every instance,

With me still it stays.
